Renowned Visits Think College

Dan Valmadre, director of Renowned Furniture recently delivered an interesting lecture to a class of design students at the CATC Design School and Billy Blue Design School.

Topics covered were:

  • How to spot good quality furniture when specifying pieces to clients both commercial and domestic
  • What’s the main differences between “2 move” furniture & good quality furniture?
  • How to incorporate strength and durability into today’s competitive environment

A quick story on how Renowned Furniture reinvented itself and is becoming a formative player in the high end furniture market when a great many of its competitors are closing their doors due to lack of profitable orders & business. An active question time & healthy robust discussion followed with a vote of thanks and applause so it looks like it was a success.

Dan was invited by Bernie Thompson, the Program director of CATC – Interior Design & Decoration & Billy Blue Commercial & Residential Design as he believed their students would really benefit from someone talking to them about manufacturing furniture, the methods, what to look for when choosing furniture and also start their networking for future roles and projects.

At Renowned, the importance of nurturing the next generation of designers is very much appreciated.  Dan believes in making them aware that there are still options locally to provide Australian designed and built furniture.
