Mark’s desk top

Mark & his wife are restoring a late 1800’s writers desk. He came to us with a pile of sticks that used to be the fold out desk top/lid section. It was in a poor state of repair and missing its leather top.

We re-machined each piece, re-joined all parts, sanded it, inserted a new leather top and applied some genuine gold gilding and then repolished the whole piece.

Mark did not recognise the end result and was keen to take it home to show his wife.
